For the first time ever, GWAR invaded the Howard Stern compound on Monday, October 31 to perform on “The Howard Stern Wrap-Up Show”. The band played two songs, the “Battle Maximus” track “Madness At The Core Of Time” and a special surprise that Stern fans will immediately recognize: a cover of “Silver Nickels And Golden Dimes”, a song Stern wrote in the sixth grade.

“I’m very honored, by the way, that anybody records my song,” Stern said, “but I have to say, they took a lot of liberties with the song.”

Former DEATH and current CHARRED WALLS OF THE DAMNED drummer Richard Christy, who has worked for “The Howard Stern Show” since 2004, stated about GWAR‘s rendition: “It sounded great,” while Stern admitted: “I do like their version better.”

“The Howard Stern Wrap-Up Show” is hosted by Gary Dell’Abate and Jon Hein and airs at 11:00 a.m. EST with repeats throughout the day on the Howard Stern channels on SiriusXM, Howard 100 and Howard 101.

Members of GWAR have announced a special book-signing appearance for “Let There Be GWAR”, their career-spanning memoir. “Let There Be GWAR” is a comprehensive behind-the-scenes history of the most outrageous shock rock band of all time. GWAR fans will cherish this oversized hardcover book chock full of fascinating first-hand accounts and rare, never-before-seen photographs.

The signing will take place on November 19 at Atomic Books in Baltimore, Maryland and from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. and will feature appearances by the one and only JiZMak da Gusha, Blothar The Berserker, Beefcake The Mighty and longtime GWAR member and book author Bob Gorman.
