With general admission tickets increasing to $70 on Saturday and VIP tickets completely sold out, The Shindig Music Festival returns “heavier than ever” Saturday, September 19 to Carroll Park with rock radio staples GODSMACK and ’90s alternative giants STONE TEMPLE PILOTS — featuring Chester Bennington of LINKIN PARK on vocals — anchoring the daylong, two-stage lineup in the city’s Pigtown district. Last year’s Shindig drew a record-setting 10,000 music lovers — the most ever gathered at Carroll Park for an event — and was named best music festival in Baltimore by the readers of Baltimore City Paper.

Joining the energy fueled festivities on this year’s two main stages will be the legendary ANTHRAX, CLUTCH, CHEVELLE, HELMET, REVEREND HORTON HEAT plus exciting new buzz bands NOTHING MORE and CROBOT. Rounding out the talent is homegrown favorites SILVERTUNG, BLACK ANGEL DOWN and MORE TO MONROE. Gates open at noon. Music begins at 1 p.m. Tickets are on sale now at $60 until Saturday (early bird); $70 thereafter. VIP tickets are sold out. Children under 12 free if accompanied by an adult.

A “shindig” is defined as “a large, lively party celebrating something,” and in this case, that “something” is the working class spirit of Baltimore which makes up the very core of The Shindig Music Festival.

The all-day festival will feature two identical main stages with no overlapping sets of music. The Woods is home to the Ripley’s “Believe it or Not” side stage featuring an array of rare talent including a performance by local shock-rock troupe Dingleberry Dynasty, plus sword swallowers, fire breathers, aerial acrobats, burlesque performances, tattoo contests, and many other visually captivating oddities. The Vending Village is also located in The Woods, which offers a variety of Baltimore’s most popular restaurant and retail options with plenty of shade and seating to chill out and relax.

The Shindig is truly a labor of love for its curator, well-known Maryland independent promoter Paul Manna of 24-7 Entertainment. To that end, Manna and 24-7 are giving back to the community, by donating 10 percent of gross ticket sales are donated to three Baltimore non-profits: the Department Of Recreation And Parks, Baltimore Montessori Public Charter School and Pigtown Main Street Association.

“I was born and raised in Baltimore and creating a festival and vibe we’ve never seen herewas my goal,” says Manna. “I think the unique charm and feel of The Shindig is palpable from the moment you step on the grounds. I’m very grateful for the overwhelming amount of fans who come out each year to share in the festival experience we passionately work so hard attempting to perfect.”

Ben Hyman, director of Pigtown Main Street, adds: “The Shindig showcases our historic neighborhood to thousands of new people. They are yet another example of our investment in Pigtown, including the opening of nine new businesses and hundreds of thousands of dollars in economic development.”

Carroll Park is located only 1.5 miles from Camden Yards, M&T Bank Stadium, I-95, and I-395 in the heart of historic Pigtown. The Shindig is proud to welcome festival lovers from all over the region to our beloved hometown of Baltimore, Maryland for another year of great music and memories.
