BraveWords is premiering progressive metal band Uncured’s new music video for “The Gift”. The track will be included on the band’s Spontaneous Generation EP, due for release on October 13th. Check out the new video below. BraveWords will also feature a video for Uncured’s song “Dethfunk” in the weeks following the EP release.
Bassist Zak Cox (age 18): “The style and pacing of the video for ‘The Gift’ really captures the song; fast, hard-hitting, technical, and groovy.”
Uncured is rounded off by Zak’s brother Rex Cox on guitar (age 16), with a guest appearance from Max Portnoy (age 17 and the son of former Dream Theater drumming legend Mike Portnoy) on drums, Uncured has already developed a reputation as one of the metal scene’s tightest bands, blending complex riffs with brutal grooves and melodic interludes. The video for “The Gift” captures all of this, along with the band’s youthful energy.
Uncured has quickly become a social media sensation, and its collection of music videos, teasers, and play-through videos have already amassed over 400,000 views from around the world.
