Former MEGADETH drummer Chuck Behler, who played with the band from 1987 to 1989 and appeared on the group’s classic album “So Far, So Good… So What!”, reunited with bassist David Ellefson on stage for the first time in more than 30 years last night (Friday, August 16) at the Token Lounge in Westland, Michigan.

After the concert, the MEGADETH bassist posted several photos of the reunion on Instagram and included the following message: “What an incredible joy to reconnect with drummer Chuck Behler last night and jam some classic SFSGSW songs together. We have such a storied history at The Token Lounge in Detroit (including waiting in our RV outside the venue to go onstage back in 1986 so we could see the ‘Peace Sells…’ video make its premier on MTVs ‘Headbangers Ball’!) and last night was yet another chapter come to life from ‘More Life With Deth’. Detroit we can’t thank you enough for another memorable night in your amazing rock n roll city!!”

Ellefson‘s concert at the Token Lounge was part of the bassist’s “Basstory – More Life With Deth” tour. The shows feature a question-and-answer session/discussion with co-author and partner Thom Hazaert about Ellefson‘s memoir, “More Life With Deth”, and a full live-band set including songs from the companion album “Sleeping Giants”.

Performing with Ellefson is Hazaert, who handles vocals on the newly recorded tracks from “Sleeping Giants”, along with “Basstory” vets, DEAD BY WEDNESDAY guitarist Dave Sharpe and drummer Opus Lawrence, and HATCHET guitarist Clayton Cagle.

Featuring cover art by Melody Myers (ALTITUDES AND ATTITUDE, MARC RIZZO, ESCAPE THE FATE), “Sleeping Giants” is a retrospective featuring several new tracks recorded by Ellefson and Hazaert, plus a collection of demos and unreleased material, from F5 and David‘s other projects, including the unreleased demo “If You Were God”, featuring John Bush (ANTHRAX, ARMORED SAINT), plus several unreleased demos featuring HOUSE OF LORDS/GIUFFRIA vocalist David Glen Eisley. The CD version also includes a second bonus disc, featuring a compilation of EMP and Combat artists.

Big moment in Detroit – Chuck Behler and I on stage together again for the first time since the Megadeth days of 1988! Thanks to The Token Lounge and the great people of Detroit for sharing the moment with us! Dave Sharpe Thom Hazaert Clayton Cagle
