According to The Pulse Of Radio, FOO FIGHTERS frontman Dave Grohl won’t be showing up at the 59th annual Grammy Awards after all. Although Grohl‘s participation was announced earlier this week, a statement issued late Thursday afternoon (February 2) by The Recording Academy said: “Earlier this week, we announced that Dave Grohl would be performing with Anderson .Paak and A TRIBE CALLED QUEST prior to confirming all participants. Dave Grohl will not be part of this performance. Unfortunately, our announcement was made prematurely. On behalf of The Recording Academy and AEG Ehrlich Productions, we sincerely apologize to all parties involved for our error.”

Grohl is certainly no stranger to Grammy collaborations. In the past, FOO FIGHTERS has performed with Chick Corea, the MY GRAMMY MOMENT ORCHESTRA and Deadmau5, while Grohl has appeared solo with Paul McCartney, the PRESERVATION HALL JAZZ BAND and a team-up of Trent Reznor, QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE and Lindsay Buckingham.

Grohl has collected 15 Grammys across his career with both FOO FIGHTERS and NIRVANA, including four wins with the FOO FIGHTERS for “Best Rock Album.”

Grohl‘s involvement was part of a handful of new performer announcements for the event that also included electronic duo DAFT PUNK, who are still slated to perform together with The Weeknd for their first live appearance since their 2014 Grammy Awards performance.

Also scheduled to perform at this year’s show are METALLICA, Adele, John Legend, Bruno Mars, Carrie Underwood and Keith Urban.

The Grammy Awards will air live from the Staples Center in Los Angeles on Sunday, February 12 at 8:00 p.m. ET on CBS.
