According to The Pulse Of Radio, FOO FIGHTERS mainman Dave Grohl and his mother Virginia will appear as guests on Wednesday’s (April 26) edition of CBS-TV‘s “The Late Show With Stephen Colbert”. The mother-and-son team are making the rounds promoting Virginia‘s new book, “From Cradle To Stage: Stories From The Mothers Who Rocked And Raised Rock Stars”.
Dave is an old pro at talk show appearances and even guest hosted late-night show “Chelsea Lately” for a week a few years ago. But he told The Pulse Of Radio a while back that the job didn’t hold any interest for him. “It’s funny because a lot of people ask, like, ‘Wow, you’re kind of a natural at that, you should do that,'” he said. “I’m like, ‘Why? I can fill a stadium in Australia — that’s fun!'”
Virginia‘s book features interviews with moms of musicians like RUSH‘s Geddy Lee, RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE‘s Tom Morello, Mike D of BEASTIE BOYS, Michael Stipe and others.
The book also includes Virginia‘s personal memories and thoughts on her son’s rise to fame — from his early years on the Washington D.C. punk scene to the massive success of NIRVANA to FOO FIGHTERS.
Dave has penned the foreword for his mom’s book, which arrived on April 18.
FOO FIGHTERS have announced a string of summer European dates, along with one U.S. festival gig in California at the end of next month, but have yet to announce a new album.
