During this year’s installment of the NAMM trade show in Anaheim, CA back in January, Alice Cooper guitarist Nita Strauss spoke on camera about Blackstar Amps, specifically her Blackstar Series One 104EL34 amp:
Metal Life Magazine had the privilege of interviewing a variety of musicians during Monster Cable’s press event for the release of the Hired Gun documentary. Strauss is featured in audio clip below about discussing her participation in the film, her love for thrash metal, and how she learned to play funk music in a matter of days.
In a video from Guitar World, Strauss shows you how to play Cooper’s late-1970 hit, “I’m Eighteen”.
As Strauss points out in the video, Cooper’s original studio version of the song doesn’t offer much in the way of a solo section. As a result, Strauss wrote her own parts and solo section for the tune; essentially, this is what she plays when Cooper and the band perform it live.
