AC/DC - Malcolm Young Buys $10M Waterfront Property In Sydney

According to Dailytelegraph.com.au, AC/DC founder and guitarist Malcolm Young and his wife Linda have purchased a premium waterfront property in Palm Beach for $10 million Australian funds. Palm Beach is Sydney’s northernmost stretch of sand, a 50-minute drive from the Sydney city centre. The sale is the biggest on the northern beaches this year. The five-bedroom home is on an absolute beachfront site of about 520sq m and is among many multimillion-dollar properties in the street. Young retired from AC/DC last year due to ill health.

According to Licensing.biz, Epic Rights and Perryscope are joining forces to develop worldwide licensing, retail and ecommerce programmes to support AC/DC’s Rock Or Bust tour.

Perryscope is a NY-based licensing and merchandising company which represents clients including Pink Floyd, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Genesis, The Police and David Gilmour among others.

The principals of both firms – Norman Perry, president of Perryscope and Dell Furano, CEO of Epic Rights – have had a long history of working with AC/DC.

“AC/DC has always been the top seller of band merchandise and has an incredible archive of artwork, photos, tour logos and imagery,” said Perry and Furano in a joint statement. “AC/DC merchandise designs are some of the most famous in rock, including Highway To Hell, Back Tn Black, High Voltage and For Those About To Rock, among others.”
